AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF GILROY Bg
ADDING A NEW SECTION TO PART II, CRAPTER III, ARTICLE III,
SAID SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 2052 AND TO REGULATE THE CLEANING OF
SLOUGHS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy be,
and the same is hereby amended by adding a new section to Part II,
Chapter III, Article III,,said section to be numbered 205 and to
read as follows, towit:
"Section 205. It shall be the duty of all persons owning,
within the City of Gilroy, land through which a slough runs to keep
the said slough fro* and clear of standing water and keep the channel
of the same in conformity with and upon a grade to be adopted by the
Common Cohnoil Of the City of Gilroy, a p of said.:grade to be kept
on file in the office of the City C1ork.N

flict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. That any person violating or wilfully ndn- complying
with any of the provi sioxs of this or any other o *dixanoe of - this City,
is guilty of a misdoneanor, and shall, upon conviction thereof, be
punished by a fine not exceeding one, hundred dollars, or by im-
prisonment in the City Prison not exceeding thirty days, or by both
such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
