AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 3ECTIONS I AIM 3M, OF ORDI'V�JOE 110. 205,! RENTING
TO ELECTRIC WIRI -NG, AND ADDING A NEW SECTION THER.4]'TO CREATING ME
OFFICE OF CITY INUECTOR OF ELECTRICITY FOR THE CITY OF GILROY.
The Mayor and Oommon Council of the City of Gilroy do ordain as follows!
towit:
Section I. That Section I of Ordinance No. 205 of the City of Gilroy,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, towit :-
"See. I. Every peragn, firm, company or corporation engaged in the
business of running or installing electric wires, or electric appliances
of whatever nature and for any and all purposes, before conducting or
transacting such trade or business in the City of Gilroy, shall first reg-
ister his name as an electrician, together with his place of business, in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy, who, upon the payme:ftt
of the sum of one dollar license tax or regii3trati6n fee, will issue to
said electrician a permit to conduct said business in said City of Gilroy,"
Section 2. That Section II of Ordinance No. 205, of the City of
Gilroy, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, tol "lit;
"See, II. That before receiving such license or permit from the City,
the applicant shall first file with the City Clerk a bond, approved by the
Mayor, in the penal sum of Three Hundred f$30O1:_ =Dollars, with two good and
sufficient sureties, payable to the City of Gilroy, and conditioned that
said applicant and licensee will comply with all and every provision of this
Ordinance on his part to be kept and performed."
Section 3. That a new section to be numbered XI, be and the same is
hereby added to Ordinance No. 205, to read as follows, towit:
"See. XI. That the office of City Inspector of Electricity of the
City of Gilroy is hereby ravaated and the said office shall be filled by
the appointment of some suitable person by the Ilayor and Common Council,
to hold office during the pleasure of said 14ayor and Common Council, or
until his successor is appointed and qualified."
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
any of the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval,
