AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 'TO. 9,18 T';STABLISHING THE
NUMBER OF LIQUOR LICENSES WHICH MAY BE GRANTED BY THE MAYOR AND
COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY, SPECIFYING THE BLOCKS OR
DISTRICTS WITHIN WHICH LICENSES MAY BE GRANTED, AND FIRING THE
NUMBER OF LICENSES WHICH MAY BE ISSUED IN EACh OF SAID BLOCKS
OR DISTRICIZ §*
The Mayor and Coon Council of the Cite of Gilroy do ordain
as follows:—
Section 1,
No license shall be issued or granted. to any person,
firm or corporation to carry on or engage in the business of
selling, dispensing or giving away distilled, fermented., malt,
vinous, or any spirituous, or intoxicating liquors, or wines of
any kind, either in wholesale or .retail quantities, in the City
of Gilroy in any place other than in those certain blocks or
districts. hereafter described, and no greater number of licenses
than fifteen shall be granted at any one time, 1nhich said licenses
may be granted in the blocks or districts described as follows: --
as In the block or district bounded by Fourth, Fifth, Eigle --
berry and ,Monterey Streets, in the City of Gilroy, one license
to engage in the wholesale or retail liquor business may be
granted,
b. in the block or district bounded by Lewis! Martin and
Monterey Streets, and East by Railroad Alley, in the City of
Gilroy, b[.tt two licenses to engage in the wholesale or retail
liquor business may be granted,
c, In the block or district bounded by Martin, Sixth and
Monterey Streets and Railroad Alley, in the rite of Gilroy, but

two licenses jo eragge in the wholesale or retail liquor business
may be granted.
d. In the block or district bounded by Sixth, Old Gilroy
and Monterey Streets, and by Railroad Alley in the City of Gilroy,
but one license to engage in the wholesale or retail liquor
business may be granted,
e, In the block or district bounded try Sixth, seventh,
Eigbe berry and Monterey Streets, in the City of Gilroy, but sis
licenses to engage in the wholesale or retail liquor business
may be granted.
f„ In the block or district bounded btr Old Gilroy and Morn
Lerey Streets, Railroad Avenue and the Street running from Rail-
road Avenue to Monterey Street South of Seventh Street, in the
City of Gilroy, but three licenses to engage in the !�holesale
or retail liquor business in the City of Gilroy may be granted.
Section 2, This Ordinance shall not apply to licenses
provided for Manufacturing liquor dealers.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and
after its passage and approval.
Adopted at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Common Council
of the City of Gilroy on the W day of January A. n. 1913, by
