AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
OF GILROY BY AMENDING SECTION 331 THEREOF, TELATIVE TO
THE SALE OF PATENT MEDICIIMS, SOAPS AND DRUGS BY
PERSONS USING MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT TO ATTRACT A
CROWD, AND BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION TO BE
KNOWN AS SECTION 331a RELATIVE TO EXHIBITIONS,
The Mayor arvi Common Council of the City of Gilroy do
ordain as follows:—
SECTION 1.
Section 331 of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy
is hereby amended to read as follows: --
Section 331:
Every Patent mdeieine peddler, or person using any
music-'show or entertainment to attract a crowd for the sale of
any patent medicines, drugs or soap, at any place other than at
a fixed and permanent place of business, or selling any patent
medicine, drugs or soap in connection with any music, show or
entertainment at any place other than a fixed or permanentL,`\shall
pay a license of One hundred and fifty Dollars per quarter year,
payable in advance. No license under this section shall be
issued for less than the full period.
Section 2:
A new Section is hereby added toAMunicipal Code of
the City of Gilroy to be known as Section 331a, and to read as
follows:—
Section 331a.
Every exhibition employing such devices as telescopes,
microwcolses, lung testers, muscle testers, galvaAo batteries,
or any other device not otherwise specially provided for by the
Municipal Code of the City of Milroy, and not prohibited by
law, and in which there is no element of chance, shall pay a
license of five Dollars per week, payable in advance.
No license under this Section shall be issued for less than
one week.
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
