ORDINANCE NO. JJ'1 1929.
AN ORDINI~NOE AMENDING SECTION NO. 22 OF ARTIOLE IV OF
ORDINANCE NO. 355 REGULATING TRAFFIC AND OARE OF VEHIOLES
UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS OJ<' THE CITY OF GILROY.
The Mayor and Oommon Council of the City of Gilroy do
ordain as follows:

That Section No. 22, of Article IV, of Ordinance No. 355,
of the City of Gilroy be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as fOllows, to-wit:
Section 22. THROUGH TRAFFIO ROUTES. The Oi ty Marshal,
when so directed by Resolutions adopted by the Mayor and
Common Council, shall establish over an appropriate street
or streets and to designate by appropriate signs, thrqugh
traffic rmltes for the movement of vehicles of two (2) or
more tons capacity designed for carrying merchandise, freight
or material. 1J\!hen any such through traffic route or routes
are established and designated by appropriate signs, the
operator of any vehicle mentioned in this paragraph shall
dri ve on such route 01' route s and none other except vlhen it
is impractical to do so or when necessary to traverse another
street or streets to a destination for the purpose of loading
or unloading, but then only by such devi<ltion from the nearest
freignt rmlte as is reasonably necessary. The City Marshal
may, when so directed by Resolution of the Mayor and Oom.-rnon
Cmlncil, prevent the use of any street or streets by vehicles
of two (2) 01' more tons capacity. Such stree t 01' streets
when selected shall be designated by appropriate signs.
