Resolution 1980- 47 r:,..---- ~......- ... -"'< . . - RESOLUTION NO. 80-47 RESOLUTION O;F THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ESTABLISHING A DENSITY OF 16 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE IN CONJUNCTION WITH ORDINANCE 80-19 REZONING AN 0.523 ACRE PARCEL ON THE NORTH SIDE OF EAST EIGHTH STREET TO R3 (LOW DENSITY MULTIPLE RESIDENCE) DISTRICT. WHEREAS, at Council request, the Planning Commission and staff are studying Zoning Ordinance Section 24.9 with the intent of lessening the density permitted for R3 parcels of less than 24,000 square feet, AND WHEREAS, the Council does not wish to permit R3 development at a density greater than 16 dwelling units per acre until such study and possible amendment are completed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Gilroy hereby establishes a density of 16 dwelling units per acre in conjunction with Ordinance 80-19 rezoning an 0.523 acre parcel on the North side of East Eighth Street to R3 (Low Density Multiple Residence) District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that after review and recommen- dation by the staff any development plans with a density greater than 16 dwelling units per acre shall be approved by the Council prior to the issue of building permits.
