Resolution 1980- 97 . . ,~ "",..,.. -=- RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ADOPTING A 1981-1982 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN, MAKING THE REQUIRED ASSURANCES CONTAINED IN H.U.D. FORM 7068, AND AUTHORIZING THE HAYOR TO SIGN THE LETTER TRANSMITTING THE CITY OF GILROY'S COHMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM PROJECT PROPOSALS TO THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA. WHEREAS, in 1974, the United States Congress enacted the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, herein called Act; and WHEREAS, Title I of the Act allows Urban Counties to receive Community Development Block Grants where such Counties enter into Joint Exercise of Powers and Cooperation Agreements with non-entit- 1ement cities to qualify as an Urban County applicant under the Act; and ~~EREAS, the City of Gilroy has entered into such an agree- ment with the County of Santa Clara and qualifies to apply for Com- munity Development Block Grant Funds thereby; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy has con- sidered projects proposed for funding and has held two .legal1y noticed Public Hearings; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gilroy adopts the proposed 1981-1982 Housing Assitance Plan; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council makes the required assurances contained in H.U.D. form 7068, and BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Mayor is authorized to sign the letter transmitting the City of Gilroy's Community Develop- ment Block Grant Program Project proposals to the County of Santa Clara.
