RESOLUTION NO. 1637
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GILROY REQUESTING APPROVAL OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS,
DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS TO PERMIT A PARADE WITHIN THE CITY
OF GILROY.
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Bonanza Days' Committee of Gilroy has requested to
hold its annual parade on June 24, 1972 at 7:00 P.M., along the following
route:
The parade route, as proposed will start at Eighth and
Monterey Streets, then proceed north on Monterey Street
to First Street and terminate at that location; and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Chief of Police shall assume the responsibil ity
of traffic control during this event; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved this parade and routing.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City of Gilroy hereby and respectively
requests the permission of the State of California Department of Public
Works, Division of Highways to allow this parade.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of April, 1972, by the following Vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: BATREZ, DUFFIN, HUGHAN, PATE, SILVA, STOUT and
GOODRICH.
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
