Resolution 1411 RESOLUTION NO. 1411 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ADOPTING THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1967 EDITION, SUBJECT TO MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS. WHEREAS, Section 6.1 of the Gilroy City Code, as amended by Ordinance No. 871 , provides that the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code shall be submitted to the Council to become effective within the City upon approval by resolution, subject to possible modifications and amendments, and WHEREAS, the 1967 edition of said code has been submitted together with modifications and amendments developed and recommended by the City Engineer. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: That the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1967 edition, shall apply to construction of all kinds in the City of Gilroy, subject to the following modifications and amendments, which amendments and modifications shall also apply in the City: 1. The main horizontal drainage piping under the first floor shall be 4" cast iron. The 4" line that connects to the sewer from the dwelling, 3' outside of the building shall be either cast iron or clay pipe. A 4" clean out shall be installed at this connection 3' outside the building line. 2. The clean out for a vertical vent in a fire wall shall be durham or cast iron. 3. Reflective paint shall be used on all plastic vent piping exposed to the weather. That a certified copy of this resolution be kept on file in the office of the City Engineer for examination by interested persons.
