'"' RESOLUTION NO. 92-72 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ESTABLISHING 5 AND 10 YEAR r:;OALS FOR RESIDENTIAL UNIT ALLOCATIONS FOR THE RESIDEN- TIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PURSUANT TO ZONING ORDINANCE SS 50.60 to 50.68 WHEREAS, the city council of Gilroy adopted Ordinance No. 92-1 amending its Residential Development provisions codified as zoning Ordinance SS 50.60 to 50.68: and WHEREAS, S 50.63(a) of the Zoning ordinance requires the city council in 1992 and every ten years thereafter to establish a ten-year goal which sets the maximum total number of dwelling units including projects exempted by S50.62(b) which should be built during the subsequent ten years: and WHEREAS, whenever the council sets a ten-year goal, it must also set a five-year goal which shall not exceed sixty percent of the ten-year goal which encompasses it: and WHEREAS, pursuant to S 50.63 (a), the city council on September 8, 1992 held a public hearing and considered economic, public service, environmental and housing issues, and the city's share of regional housing needs as established by the State of California, and other information it deemed relevant to the Residential Development program, inCluding its purpose and intent: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. The maximum total number of dwelling units includ- ing projects exempted by S50.62(b) which should be built during the subsequent ten years is hereby set at 4,000 (four thousand) dwelling units: and 2. The five-year goal is hereby set at 1,900 (one thousand nine hundred) units: and RESOLUTION NO. 92-72 -1- f . . . ~ 3. The commencement date of said goals shall be determined at a future meeting of the City Council.
