An Ordnance to close the present Cem-
etery of Gilroy.
The inhabi tantsof:the bity of Gilroy, oy
the Mayor and Common Council, do ordain
as follows
S. 1. That on and after the passage of
this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any
person to bury the body of any deceased
human being op or in the burial ground
known as the Gilroy Cemetery, or Gilroy
Public Grave Yard.
S. 2. That it shall be unlawful for any
person to bury any deceased human being
in any garden, yard, lot, house, or in any
place whatever within the corporate limits
of the City of Gilroy, save and except in the
burial ground belonging to the authorities
of the Catholic Church, under the control
of the said authorities.
S: 3. Any.persun or persons 'violating
section one or section two of this ordinance
gha.11 be deemed guilty of creating a nuisance
and shall upon conviction thereof, be fined
for each burial which he or she shall make
or permit to be made, within the limits
aforesaid, not less than twenty nor more
than one hundred. dollars.
S. 4. This ordinance to be in full effect
and force on and after its passage.
