AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING DEVIATIONS FROM REQUIREMENTS OF BUILDING,
PLilldBING AND ELECTRICAL ORDINANCES IN CONSTRUCTING DEFENSE WORKER
DWELLINGS.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Whenever dwellings are constructed which are
~inanced and approved by the Federal Housing Authority or other
Federal Authority sponsoring the construction o~ dwellings ~or
defense workers, and the plans and specifioations approved by
such Authority and governing the construction are inconsistent with
the Building, Plumbing, Electrical or other ordinances of the City
o~ Gilroy, deviations ~rom said ordinance requirements to con~o~
with said Federal Government approved specifications may be per-
mitted in accordance with rules, regulations and requirements
approved by the J::opmwnCouncil'of.the City ot Gilroy.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take e~~ect immediately,
and shall remain in effect only during the existence of the present
National Emergency.
ADOPTED AND PASSED this 2nd day of ~.i'., 1944, by
