AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ALTERATION OF THE BOUNDARIES OF
THE CITY OF GILROY BY ~dE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TlIERETO AND FOR THE INCORPORATION OF SUCH ANNEXED
TERRITORY IN AND AS A PART OF SUCH MUNICIPALITY) AND FOR THE
DISTRICTING, GOVERN~ffiNT AND 1ruNICIPAL CONTROL OF SUCH ANNEXED
TERRITORY TO BE KNOWN AS TEE "FIRST WESTERN ADDITION".

The Council of the City of Gilroy having on the 5th day of
January, 1948, duly passed and adopted Resolution No. 197 whereby
it declared its desire to alter the boundaries of the City of
Gilroy by the annexation of certain uninhabited territory to be
known as the "First Western Addition"; and describing the district
to be benefited by such alterations; and stating certain provisions
that the owners of property situated therein would first payor
arrange to pay to the City of Gilroy a sum of money sufficient to
pay their prorata share of the cost of installation of sewer and
water mains, fire hydrants and fire alarm boxes, grading and
graveling of unimproved streets, and the installation of curb and
gutter when required; and the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy
having caused notices of the passage of said Resolution to be
published in a newspaper of general circulation in the manner
and form required by law; and no objection to said proposed
annexation having been filed at the hearing by said Council:
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Under the authority of Chapter 297, statutes of
1939 and amendments thereto, does hereby annex to the said City
of Gilroy as "uninhabited territory" under the requirements

above set forth the aforementioned lands which are more
particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at the intersection of the southerly line of the
Hecker Pass Highway (Bodfish Mill Road) with the Westerly
Limit Line of the City of Gilroy and running thence west-
erly along the' southerly line of Hecker Pass Highway 84.64
feet to the easterly line of Miller, Avenue; thence along
said easterly line 1826.99 feet to the intersection with
the southerly line of Third street; thence easterly along
said southerly line 727.48 feet to the westerly line of
Princevalle street, being also the westerly Corporate Limit
Line of the City of Gilroy; thence northerly along said
Limit Line 1637.90 feet to the point of beginning.f1
SECTION 2. The said lands hereby annexed shall be known
as the "First Western Addition".
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after the date of the filing of said document in the
office of the Secretary of state.
