AN ORDINAlJCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF FIRE INSPECTOR AND PROVIDING
FOR THE DUTIES AIm gALARY O'FSAID bFFICE~.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy
do ordain as follows:
SECTION 10 The office of Fire Inspector of the City
of Gilroy is hereby created.
SECTION 2. Duties of Fire Inspector
It shall be the duty of the Fire Inspect0r to inspect
publicly-owned buildings and buildings frequented by the public
-for fire hazards and to report in writing his findings to the
Chief of the Fire Department, and who shall take such action as
he may deem necessary to reduce or remove said fire hazard.
Said Fire Inspector shall also make ~fmonthly report to the
City Council.
SECTION 4. Salary of the Fire Inspector
Until the further order of the Council, the salary
of the Fire Inspector shall be and it is hereby fixed at the
sum of $64.00 per montho
SECTION 5. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after December 1, 1948.
