AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 422, COMMONLY KN01.fN AS THE tlZONING
ORDINANCE" BY REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED ALONG OLD GILROY STREET
FROM ZONE "B" DISTRICT TO ZONE ftC..I" DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, IDALENE FITZGERALD, JOSEPHINE JONES, and others ta ve filed
a verified petition with the City Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy aSking that Zoning Ordinance No. 422 of the City of Gilroy be
amended by reclassifying and placing in Zone "C-ln District the follow-
ing described premises located in the City of Gilroy now in Zone "B"
Disprict, to-wit:
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and, in Block 2 South of Range
4 East of the City of Gilroy, as shown on
Map No.6 and its amendments accompanying the
report of the referees in the Las Animas Rancho
partition suit Action No. 5536 had in and for
the County of Santa Clara,
Also Lots 1, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Block 2 South Range
3 East, and Lots 1.j. and , in Block 1 South Range 3
East, as shown on the said map above referred to.
Also the following deacribed portion of Lot 6 in
said Block 1 South Range 3 East:
Commencing at the point of intersection of
the easterly line of Alexander Street with the
northerly line of Old Gilroy Street and running
thence in a northerly direction along the east-
erly line of Alexander Street 126.06 feet; thence
at right angles in a easterly direction to the
westerly line of an alley; thence in a southerly
direction along the said line of said alley to
the northerly line of Old Gilroy Street and thence
in a westerly direction along the northerly line
of Old Gilroy Street to the point of beginning.
Also the following described portion of Block 2
South Range 4 East as shown on the Map above
referred to:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the
Westerly line of Chestnut Street with the
south line of Old Gilroy Street running thence
Southerly along the west line of Chestnut street
132.64 feet; thence at right angles in a westerly
diredtion 150 feet; thence at right angles in a
northerly direction 45 feet; thence at right angles
in a westerly direction 150 feet to the east line
of Forest Street; thence along the easterly line
of Forest Street in a northerly direction to the
South line of Old Gilroy Street; thence along the
South line of Old Gilroy Street in an easterly
direction to the point of beginning.

Reference is hereby had to the maps and general zoning ordinance
of the City of Gilroy now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Gilroy.
And, WHEREAS, the said City Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy did fix a time for the hearing of the said petition and did cause
notice thereof to be given in a manner and for the time required by law,
AND, WHEREAS, upon the said hearing and after due consideration,
the said City Planning Commission of the said City of Gilroy did file its
recommendation and report in which it recommended that the said petition
be granted, with the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy, and the Common
Council of the City of Gilroy did heretofore fix the 24th day of September,
1951, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Common Councilroom in the
City Hall in the City of Gilroy, County of Santa Clara, State of California,
as the time and place of hearing said petition,

A~d, WHEREAS, at the said time and place the said petition was
duly heard and considered by the said Common Council of the City of Gilroy
it being first shown that notice of the time and place of hearing had been
given as required by law and the City Ordinances of the City of Gilroy, and
the said Common Council having determined that the said petition should be
granted,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy does
ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the said premises hereinbefore described now
located in Zone "B" District, as the same is described and defined in
Ordinance No. 422 of the City of Gilroy and its amendments, are hereby
removed from said district and placed in Zone ltC-lit District, and reference
is hereby had to the maps and general zoning ordinance of the City of
Gilroy now 4n file with the City Clerk.
Section 2. The boundaries of the said lfB" District and said
nC..ltt District are hereby changed in accordance with and to conform with
thls ordinance and the map constituting a part of the said "Zoning
Ordinancelt of the City of Gilroy, in said Ordinance and thereinr.eferred
to shall be made to conform to the changes herein set forth.
