OF GILROY 3Y THE ANNEXATION uF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TETRIT0RY THERETO AND
FuR THE INCORPORATICN OF SUCH ANNEXED TERRITORY IN AND AS A PA",~T OF SUCH
MUNICIPALITY, AND FuR THE DISTRICTING, GOVERNMENT ,AND MUIHCIFAL CONTROL
OF SUCH ANNEXED TERRITORY TO BE KNOWN A:; THE f1FIRST NORTHgRN ADDITION
TO THE CITY CF GILROY."
WHE "EAS a written petition has heretc.fore been filed in the office
of the Clerk of the City of Gilroy under the provisions of the Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in the Government Code
asking that there be annexed to the said City of Gilroy as uninhabited
territory a tract of land therein and hereinafter described contiguous to
the city limits of the City of Gilroy, and
Wli~REAS the proposal for the Annexati0n of the said territory to said
City of Gilroy has heretofore and prior to the filing of the said petition
in the office of the City Clerk has been submitted to the Bounjary
Commission of Santa Clara County together with a map of the territory pro-
posed to be annexed and said Boundary Commission has duly reported to the
Common Council of the City of Gilroy approving the petition for the
Annexation and the certainty and definiteness of the proposed boundaries, and
WHEREAS the Common Council of the City of Gilroy has heretofore and
after the filing of the said petition in the office of the Clerk referred
the matter of the Annexation of said territory to the City Planning Commission
of the City of Gilroy and the said Planning Commission has filed its report
with the Common Council approving annexation of said tract ,of land, and
WHEREAS the Common Council of the City of Gilroy did on the 29th day of
September
, 19~52 , duly pass and adopt Resolultion No. 283
designating the said territory to be annexed as "First Northern Addition
to the City of Gilroy" and directing that Notice of the hearing of said
petition be had before the said Common Council on Monday, the 3rd day of
November, 1952, at the hour of 8:00 otclock PoM. of said day in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, Gilroy, California, and that notice of the said
hearing of said petition be;
given as required by law and in accordance
with the said resolution, and
WHEREAS the s'-\td City Clerk of the said City of Gilroy has given the

s~id notice in accordance with the said Resolution and with law by causing
a copy of the said resoluti0n to be published in the Morgan Hill Times, a
newspaper published in the City of Morgan Hill, County of Santa Clara, State
of California, on the 3rd and 10th days of Cctober, 1952, and in the Gilroy
Evening Dispatch, a newspaper published in the said City of Gilroy, County
of Santa Clara, State of California, on the l~t and 8th days of October, 1952,
and
WHE::tEAS the said hearing having teen reglllarly continued by said
Common Council until the 18th day of November, 1952, a t the hour of
8:00 o'clock P.M. at the place fixed in the aforementioned resolution, and
no protests or objections having been filed on or prior to the lJth day of
November, 1952, and the said Common Council of the City of Gilroy deeming
it advisable that the said premises be annexed to the said City of Gilroy;

DO uRDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 10 Under the authority of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in the Government COde, th.re~8 ')
annaxedto the said City of Gilroy as "uninhabited territory" under the
requirements above set forth the aforementioned lands which are more
particularly described as follows:
BBING a portion of Henry Miller's Subdivision of the southerly
portion ~f Las Animas Ranch Lot 34 and Sub Lot 2 according to
the Map thereof recorded in Book "M" of Map s, page 79, Record s
of Santa Clara County, C&lifornia, and being more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersectIon of the westerly line of
Murray Avenue with the northerly corporate limits of the
City of Gilroy and running thence along said westerly line
N. 220 20' W. 407.24 feet to the line common to Lots 7 and 8
as shown on said Map; thence along the line common to Lots 7
and 8 s. 670 40' w. 755.49 feet; thence N. 220 20t W. 264.28
feet to the line common to Lots 6 and 7 as shown on said MaPl
thence along said line S. 670 40' w. 40.00 feet to the westerly
common corner to Lots 6 and 7; thence along the southwesterly
line of Lot 6 No 22020'W. 264.28 feet to the most westerly corner
of Lot 6; thence S. 67037'W. 826.57 feet to the easterly
line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Right of Way at the
most westerly corner of that certain 20 acre tract of ~nd
described in deed recorded in Book 439 at page 45, Official
Records of Santa Clara County; thence along the easterly
line of the Southern Pacific Railroad property S. 220 20t Eo
863015 feet to the intersection thereof with the northerly
corporate limits of the City of Gilroy; thence easterly
along the original corporate limits of the City of Gil~oy
to the westerly line of Murray Avenue and the point of
beginning, containing therein 24.1 acres of land, more or less."

SECTION 20 The sald land s hereby anne'{ed to the said
City of Gilroy shall be known as "FIRST NURTHERN ADDITION TO 'rHE CITY OF
GILRUY", and the boundaries of said City of Gilroy shall be and are hereby
altered so as to include said annexed territory.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after the date of the filing of a certified copy of this
Ordinance in the Office of the Secretar~ of State~/) ,
