ORDINANCE NO. 541 -;1
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 422 OF THE CITY OF GILROY,
GENERAL LY KNOWN AS THE "ZONING ORDINANCE", BY CHANGING THE
BOUNDARY LINES OF DISTRICTS "A", tlBtI AND IlD"
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy has heretofore proposed, held a pUblic hearing thereon
in accordance with law, and recommended in a written report
to the Common Council of the City of Gilroy, that Ordinance
No. 422, commonly known as the "Zoning Ordinance", of said City
be amended by changing the boundaries of Districts "A", "B" and
"D", as hereinafter set forth, and
VlHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Gilroy has here-
tofore received the said report and has heretofore adopted a
Resolution fixing Monday, the 28th day Of May, 1956, at the
hour of 8 o'clock p.m. in the Common Council Chambers in the
City Hall, Gilroy, California, as the time and place of hearing
objections to the said rezoning, and has duly caused notice of
the time and place of the said hearing to be given as required
by law; and
WHEREAS, the said Common Council did, on the said 28th day
of Kay, 1956, at the hour and place designated in the said
notice, proceed to hold the said pUblic hearing and hear objections
to the said proposed rezoning, and having duly considered the
matter, and having determined that the said amendment to said
Ordinance No. 422 should be adopted, as hereinafter set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section Is Ordinance No. 422 of the City of Gilroy,
generally known and designated as the "Zoning Ordinance", of said
City is hereby amended in the following particulars, to-wits
A. That the boundaries of Zone tlA" District and Zone
tlB" District be changed SC as to include in said Zone "BtI District

all that part of the following described premises not now
in said District, to-wits
Commencing at the point of intersection
of the northerly line of Broadway Street
with the easterly line of Wayland Lane, and
running thence in an easterly direction along
said northerly line of Broadway Street 327.10
feet to an alley; thence along the north-
westerly line of said alley 233.80 feet to a
proposed alley; thence at right angles in a
southwesterly direction 315.78 feet, more or
less, to the easterly line of Wayland Lane,
and thence in a southeasterly direction along
the easterly line of Wayland Lane to the
point of beginning.
B. That the following described premises not now
zoned be included in Zone "DtI District, to-wit:
All the premises in the City of Gilroy known
as SECOND NORTHERN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
GILROY.
Reference is hereby made to the map and zoning ordinance
now on file in the Office of the Clerk of the City of Gilroy.
Section 2: That the Map of the Zoning Ordtance of the
City of Gilroy be made to conform to the changes herein set
for th .
Section 3: That should any part of this ordinance be
declared by any Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,
all the rest and remainder of said Ordinance shall continue to be
valid and in full force, the Common Council hereby declaring that
it would have adopted said remaining portion of said Ordinance
irrespective of the invalidity of the portion that has been
declared void.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
ADOPTED and PASSED this 28th day of May, 1956, by the
