ORDINANCE NO. 630
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY FIXING THE AMOUNT TO BE PAID ANNUALLY
TO THE CITY OF GILROY FOR PERMITTING THE CONNECTION OF LABOR CAMPS AND
LABOR SUPPLY CAMPS TO THE CITY OF GILROY SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, DEFINING
"LABOR CAMPS AND LABOR SUPPLY CAMPS", FlX[NG THE TIME OF PAYMENT AND THE
PENALTY TO BE ADDED TO THE CHARGE FOR NON~PAYMENT.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. DEFINITIONS: Labor Camp, as used in this Ordinance is hereby
defIned to mean any livnng quarters, dwelling, boardIng house,
tent, bunkhouse, maintenance of way car~ trailer coach or other
housing accommodations, maIntained without the boundaries of
the CIty of Gilroy in connectIon with any work or place where
work is beIng performed, and the premIses upon which they are
sItuated and/or the area set aside and provided for campIng of
five or more employees by the employer.
The term, Labor Supply Camp, as herein used Is hereby defIned
to be any place, area, or pneye of land withou~ the boundaries
of the City of Gilroy, where a person engages In the business
of provIding sleeping places or camping grounds for fIve or
more employees or prospective employees of another.
SECTION 2.
Any labor camp or labor supply camp as herein defined shall pay
to the City of Gilroy annually, the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00)
Dollars before said Labor Camp or Labor Supply Camp shall be
permitted to be connected with the City of Gilroy sanitary sewer
system and thereafter, an annual charge of Three Hundred ($300.00)
Dollars shall be payable by said Labor Camps or Labor Supply
Camp to maintain connections with the said Gilroy Sewer system;
such annual charge shall be paid on or before the 1st day of
May of each year; in the event the amount first paid the City
of GIlroy by the Labor Camp or Labor Supply Camp is for a period
of less than one year, there shall be a prorata deductIon.
SECTION 3.
PENALTY FOR NON~PAYMENT: In the event the said annual charge
of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars is not paid Within thirty
(30) days from and after the 1st day of May of any year, the
sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars shall be added to the annual
payment as a penalty, and unless paid with the annual charge
wIthin ten (10) days thereafter, the right to use the said
CIty sanitary Sewer System shall terminate and the servIce shall
forthwith be dlseontinued;
The City of GIlroy may Institute an actIon to recover any monIes
which are payable but not paId to the City of Gilroy under this
OrdInance, and in any such action, the Court shall include in
the judgment a reasonable Attorney[s fee.

SECTION 40 The city Administrator shall establish rules
and regulations not in conflict with this ordinance
under which Labor Camps and Labor Supply Camps
may be connected with the City of Gilroy Sanitary
sewer systemo
SECTION 50 All ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealedo
SECTION 60 This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption
and approvalo .
