AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY SETTING FORTH AND
DESCRIBING AREA IN SAID CITY TO BE INCLUDED IN R3X
ZONE OR DISTRICT AND TO BE SUBJECT TO THE
REGULATIONS THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy, after due
proceedings had therefor, has heretofore established as one of
the zoning districts of the City of Gilroy a zone or district
known as R3X Zone and has established the regulations for the
said R3X Zone or District in Ordinance No. 711~ and
WHEREAS, the Council has not heretofore adopted any ordinance
describing or establishing the area or territory within the City
of Gilroy to be included in said R3X District or Zone, and proceed-
ings have been initiated to determine the particular area and
description thereof now to be included in said District, and
hearing has been held before the Planning Commission after due
notice given thereof in accordance with the provisions of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy of the proposal to include
the area hereinafter described in said R3X District which Commission
has duly reported upon the said proposal to the Council in which
report it recommends that the said territory be included in said
District~ and
WHEREAS the Council has heretofore duly fixed Monday the 19th
day of July, 1965, at the hour of 8 p.m., in the Council Chamber,
No. 10 North Rosanna Street, City of Gilroy, County of Santa Clara,
State of California, as the time and place for hearing the said
report and recommendation of the Planning Commission, and notice
of said hearing has been properly given as required by said
Zoning Ordinance, and the Council has now held the said hearing
in accordance with said notice and has heard the evidence presented
for and against the adoption of the amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
required to include the said territory in the R3X District, and has
determined that the said area as fixed by the said Planning

Commission in said report and hereinafter described should be
placed in said R3X District or Zone;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy is
hereby amended by including in the R3X Zone or District as hereto-
fore established as a part of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Gilroy, the following described territory, to wit:
BEGINNING at point of intersection of the easterly line of
Hanna Street with the southerly line of First Street; thence
southerly on the easterly line of Hanna Street to the southerly
line of Second Street; thence easterly on the southerly line
of Second Street 150.00 feet to the center of the alley
between Hanna and Church Streets; thence southerly along the
center line of the alley between Hanna and Church Streets to
the southerly line of Sixth Street; thence westerly along the
southerly line of Sixth Street 150.00 feet to the easterly
line of Hanna Street; thence southerly along the easterly
line of Hanna Street to the northerly line of Ninth Street;
thence easterly along the northerly line of Ninth Street to
the easterly line of Rosanna Street; thence southerly along
the easterly line of Rosanna Street to the northerly line of
Tenth street; thence easterly along the northerly line of
Tenth Street to the easterly line of Eig1eberry Street; thence
northerly along the easterly line of Eig1eberry Street to the
northerly line of Ninth Street; thence easterly along the
northerly line of Ninth Street 150.00 feet; thence at right
angles northerly to the northerly line of Seventh Street;
thence westerly 150.00 feet to the easterly line of Eig1eberry
Street; thence northerly along the easterly line of Eig1eberry
street to the northerly line of Sixth Street; thence westerly
along the northerly line of Sixth Street 225.00 feet; thence
northerly at right angles to the southerly line of First Street;
thence westerly along the southerly line of First Street to the
point of beginning.
EXCLUDING the following described properties:
1. Lots 5 and 6 in Block 5 north of Range 4 west of the City
of Gilroy.
2. Beginning at a point on the southerly line of First Street
distant thereon, 111.50 feet westerly from its intersection
with the westerly line of Rosanna Street and running thence
in a southerly direction at right angles to First Street
63.00 feet; thence at right angles in an easterly direc-
tion to the westerly line of Rosanna Street and thence in
a northerly direction along said line of Rosanna Street
to the southerly line of First Street; thence along said
line westerly to the point of beginning.
ALSO, beginning at the point of intersection of the southerly
line of First Street with the Easterly line of Rosanna Street:
and running thence in a southerly direction along the
easterly line of Rosanna Street 70.00 feet; thence in an
easterly direction at right angles to Rosanna Street
"140.00 feet to an alley; theme in a northeasterly direction
across said alley to a point on the easterly line of
said alley distant thereon 60.00 feet southerly on the
south line of First Street; thence at right angles to

the easterly line of said alley in an easterly direction
to the westerly line of Church street; thence across
Church Street in a northeasterly direction to a point on
the easterly line of Church street distant thereon
50.00 feet southerly from the southerly line of First
street; thence at right angles to the east line of
Church Street in an easterly direction 150.00 feet;
thence at right angles in a northerly direction to the
southerly line of First street; thence in a westerly
direction along the southerly line of First Street to
the point of beginning.
3. Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Rea Subdivision
of Block 2 south Range 1 west of the City of Gilroy.
4. Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of
Eig1eberry Street with the southerly line of Sixth Street;
thence southerly along the. easterly line of Eig1eberry
Street 97.00 feet; thence at right angles westerly 140.00
feet to t he easterly line of an alley between Church and
Eig1eberry Streets; thence northerly along the easterly
line of said alley 97.00 feet to the southerly line of
Sixth Street; thence easterly along the southerly line
on sixth Street 140.00 feet to the pOint of beginning.
Section 2. That said territory hereinbefore referred to and
described shall be subject to the rules and regulations as
established in Ordinance No. 711 and any amendments thereto ap-
pertaining to R3X Districts.
Section 3. The zoning map of the City of Gilroy shall be
changed to reflect the inclusion of the area as hereinbefore
described as a part of the R3X Zone or District.
Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force 30 days after the date of its passage and approval.
ADOPTED AND PASSED this 2nd day of August, 1965, by the
following vote:
