ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING
THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY BY
PREZONING APPROXIMATELY 8.1 ACRES ADJOINING
THE CITY OF GILROY AT 475 THOMAS ROAD,
NORTH OF SANTA TERESA BOULEVARD, AS R1
(SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT AND OS
(OPEN SPACE) DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD OF GILROY, INC.,
has heretofore filed with the Planning Commission of the
City of Gtlroy a petition in due form requesting the
prezoning of approximately'8.1 acres as RI (Single Family
Residential) District and OS (Open Space) District, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy has given due notice of a public hearing upon the said
application, in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of Gilroy, has held the hearing, has approved a Negative
Declaration under the California Environmental Quality Act,
and has made its report to the Council of the City of Gtlroy,
in which it recommends that the 8.1 acres hereinafter described
be prezoned as set forth above; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has fixed
the 16th day of July, 1984, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 7351 Rosanna Street,
Gtlroy, California, as the time and place for hearing the said
report and recommendation upon the said application, and notice
of the said hearing has been given in accordance with the said
Zoning Ordinance, and a public hearing has now been held upon
the said application before the Council, and the Council having
duly considered the said application and the evidence presented,
has approved the Negative Declaration under the California

Environmental Quality Act, and has determined that the said
Zoning Ordinance should be amended in accordance with the
report of the said Planning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Gilroy is hereby amended by prezontng to become effective upon
annexation and placing' approximately 8~1 acres in R1 District
and OS District as the same are described and defined in the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy, the following described
premises:
Ail that property located in the County.of
Santa Clara, State of California, described
as follows:
That 8.1 acres, more or less, at 475 Thomas
Road, north of Santa Teresa Boulevard, and
shown as parcel 808-20-008 in the Santa
Clara County Tax Assessor's Map Book:
To OS District, the most northeasterly
three acres, more or less, lying
below flood elevation 217, and
To R1 District, the remainder of the
parcel.
Section 2: The official map constituting a part of
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy shall be amended to
reflect the foregoing changes of classification of the said property.
Section 3: Ail ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force thirty (30) days .from and after its passage
and approval, and upon annexation of said property to the City
of Gilroy.
