Ordinance 1986-15 ORDINANCE NO. 86-15
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY ENACTING SECTION
15.61-1 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE PROHIBITING VENDOR'S
WAGONS FROM SELLING WITHIN FIVE HUNDRED FEET OF
ELEMENTARY AND JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PROPERTY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 15.61-1 of the Gilroy City Code
is enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 15.61-1. Same - Prohibited near Scho'ols.
No person shall stop any vendor's wagon for
the purpose of making any sale on a public street
or sidewalk or other public place within five
hundred feet, measured along the traveled way, of
any elementary or junior high school property.
SECTION II. Ail other ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III. This is an Emergency Ordinance which shall
take effect immediately upon its passage and approval. The
facts and circumstances giving rise to the emergency are as
follows:
Adoption of this Ordinance to take effect immediately,
is necessary to eliminate hazardous traffic conditions
prior to the opening of school.
This Ordinance was introduced as an emergency measure
and passed and adopted to become effective i~ediately and
ordered published by title and summary in accordance with
provisions of the City Charter at a regular session of the City
Council held on the 2nd day of September 1986, by the following vote:
