ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING T~,~ ZONING
ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY BY PREZONING AND RE. ZONING
APPROXIMATELY 6 ACRES ADJOINING THE CITY OF GILROY
NORTH OF RONAN CHANNEL, SOUTH OF DAY ROAD ALONG NORTH
MONTEREY ROAD, PP~ZONING C1 (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT AND REZONING Ri (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL)
DISTRICT TO C1 (NEIGHBORHOOD COMbIERCIAL) DISTRICT
WHEREAS, application Z 88-6 has heretofore been made
by the CITY OF GILROY to the Planning Commission of the
City of Gilroy for the rezoning and prezoning of the premises
hereinafter described from Ri and County Ag to C1 District;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy
has given due notice of a public hearing upon the said
application, in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of Gilroy, has held the hearing, has approved a Negative
Declaration under the California Environmental Quality Act,
has determined that the rezoning will not have a significant
adverse affect on the environment, and has made its report to
the Council of the City of Gilroy, in which it recommends that
the hereinafter described premises be rezoned and prezoned
from RI (Single Family Residential) and County Ag Districts
to C1 (Neighborhood Commercial) District; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has fixed the
24th day of October 1988, at the hour of 8 p.m. in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall at 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy,
California, as the time and place for hearing the said report
and recommendation upon the said application, and notice of the
said hearing has been given in accordance with the said

application, and the evidence presented, has pre¥iously
approved a Negative Declaration under the California
Environmental Quality Act, and has determined that the said
Zoning Ordinance should be amended in accord with the report
of the said Planning Commission~
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sec__tion Ii The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy
is hereby amended by removing from RI and County Ag Districts
and placing in C1 District, as the same are described and
defined in the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy, the
following described premises:
That certain real property situated in the City of
Gilroy, County of Santa Clara, State of California,
described as follows:
The 6.0 acre parcel, more or less, north of Ronan
Channel, south of Day Road along North Monterey
Road, identified as Assessor's Parcel Nos. 790-06-012,
790-07-003 and 004, and 790-06-013 and 029 to a depth
of 400 fe~t from Monterey Road.
Section 2: The official map constituting a part of
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Gilroy shall be amended to
reflect the foregoing changes of classification of the said
property.
Section 3: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect and be in

full force thirty ~O) days from and after its passage
and approval~
