The regular meeting of the Common Council is called to order
by His Honor Mayor S.D.Heck.
Present Councilman George Milias,Jr.,J.H.Rush,Nat Heiner,
George Mason,H.L.Wilkinson.

Minutes of the meetings of August 3rd, August 16th,August 23rd
and August 25th are read and approved.
Letters from the Trustees of the Rebekah Assembly and the Dist-
Superintendent of Schools thanking the Council for the work done

A letter from the Trustees of the Gilroy Public Library is read.

carried that the Public Library be allowed $291.66 per month for
twelve months and the City pay $.104. for repair work on the front
steps of the I,i brary build ing.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Wilkinson and
carried that the Clerk write a letter to Supervisor Henry Hecker
thanking him for the $1000. donation from his read district funds

Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Coubcilman Heiner that

The City Attorney reports that the City is not drawing any inter-

est on its accounts at the banks due to a recent action by the
Congress of the United States. The Attorney repJrts that forms have
been drawn and ppesented to the banks for their approval whereby
theLCity,will again receive interest.
Motion by Councilman Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman Milias and
carried that the bid of $25.00 by Dr.E.J.Chesbro for old milk ins-

Motion by Councilman Bilias,seconded by Councilman Wilkinson
and carried that $600. be transferred from the General Fund to
the 1905 Bond Fund and $105. be transferred from the General
Fund to the 1931 jlater Bond Fund.

and carried that the Tax Rate for 1937-l938 be placed at $1.00
per $100. on assessed valuation and be apportioned among the

';mEREAS: The City Planning Commission of the City of' Gilroy, California, in
accordance with the instructions of the Common Council of said City and pur-
suant to the provisions of law, did prepare a proposed zoning or districting
plan for said City and did make a tentative report thereon and did hold certain
hearings thereon, which hearings were held at the following times and places,
to-wit:
1. At the hour of 8 P.M. on the 18th day of August, 1937, in the Council
Chamber in the City Hall, Gilroy, California.

2. At the hour of 8 P.M. on the 3rd day of September, 1937, in the Council
Chamber in the City Hall, Gilroy, California.
VlliEREAS: Said City Planning Commission did, by a resolution thereof adopted on
the 3rd day of September, 1937, make a final report on said zoning or districting
plan by approving a certain proposed zoning or districting ordinance of said
City and a certain proposed zoning or districting map of said vity, as set forth
in said resolution, and did recommend that said Comrnon Council 'adopt the samej
now; therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That said Common Council in meeting assembled on the 7th day of
September, 1937, does hereby set a certain time and place for a public hearing
on said final report and on said proposed zoning or districting plan, which time
and place is as follows, to-wit:

Chamber in the City Hall, Gilroy, California'.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Clerk be and the same is hereby directed

and circulated in said City.
