The regular meeting of the Common Council is called to order by
His Honor Mayor S.D.Heok.
Present Councilman George Milias,Jr.,J.H.Rush,Nat Heiner,George
Mason,H.L.Wilkinson.

Minutes of the meetings of September 7th and September 20th

are read and approved.
Motion by Counc ilman 'Nilkinson, seconded by Counc ilman Ee iner
and carried that the sum of ;~30.43 be refunded to Mr.Mitchell
Milias said amount being 1/3 of the amount taxes paid by him
in 1932-l933;refund being made on account of a. lease~on pa.rt'of
his property to the Pacific Greyhound Lines,a public utility.
The petition for refund of 1/3 of the 1933-1934 taxes on the
same prop erty is denied.
Motion by Counc ilman Rush, seconded by Counc ilman I,lason and
carried that Logan & Frazer,certified public accountants,be
employed to audit the City's books for the fiscal year 1937-
1938 for the sum of $200. ,audits to be made quarterly.

Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that one hour parking limit be placed on the following
streets:
JAonterey,street from Fourth street to Seventh street,
Monterey street to Eigleberry Street on Sixth street,
Monterey Street to =igleberry street on Fifth street,
Honterey Street to S. P.rla ilroad tracks on Iilartin street,
Konterey street to S.P.Railroad tracks on Lewis Street,
Monterey street to S.P.Railroad tracks on East Sixth street,
Monterey street to Eigleberry street on Fourth street.
A letter fram Chesbro << Eustice relative to insurance on City
prop3 rty , is read.
The Mayor appoints members or the Finance Comraittee to meet
with local representatives of insurance companies to. discuss
insurance on City properties.

carried that bills as presented be allowed and warrants ordered
drawn on the Treasu rer.

carried that reports of the City officers be accepted and placed
elm file.
Mot ion by Caunc ilman Milias, seconded by Counci lman ljasonand

carried that the sum of ;j600. be transferred from Yiater Fund'to
the Library Fund;said amount to be returned to 0ater Fund when
tax money is available.
Mr. Elmer ::Jeymouth, secretary-manager of the Chamber of Commerce,
appears before the Council to discuss an illuminated sign for
the city.

and carried that the City purchase an illiminated sign,"GILROYIt,
said sign to be approved by the Council.
