The regular monthly meeting of the Common Council is oalled to
order by His HonQr Mayor S.D.Heck.
Present Councilmen: George Milias,Jr. ,Jack Rogers,.J.H.Rush,George
A.Martin,George Mason,Nat Heiner. Absent:Counc1lmen None.
Minutes of meetings or April 4th,20th and May 2nd and 3rd,1938,
are read and approved.
Motion by Councilman Mason,seoonded by Councilman Martin and
carried that the vote of the Generallronicipal election,May 2,1938,
and the absent voters ballots for the same election be canvassed.
Motion by Counoilman Heiner,seconded by Councilman Rogers and
carried that the following received the number of votes set opposite
the names and those having the greatest number of votes for the
respective offices are hereby declared eleoted:

books and accounts for the period Jan.l,1938 to 1~rch 31,1938 and found
everything in 0 rder.
Motion by Councilman Heiner,seconded by Councilman Martin and

advertisement be made for bids for a change over
~ of the present pump on North Monterey St~eet to deliver 1000 gallons
per minute~the City Clerk to draw the specifications,Layne & Bowler
parts to be specified.

necessary to have a building located on North Monterey st. opposite

Motion by Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that the following delinquent taxes,penalties,costs and Street
assessments on the property of Susie Cantua (Estate of A.R.Amador) ,be
cancelled:

Motion by Councilman Martin,seconded by Councilman Rogers and
carried that $650. be donated to the Gilroy Gymkhana & Horse S~ow.
Motion by Councilman Rush,seconded by Councilman Heiner and carried
that the City Attorney be instructed to draw a lease-City of Gilroy
to the Gilroy GyBkhana & Horse Show;lease to cover parcel of land
----
known as the Gymkhana grounds.

Motion by Councilman Rush,seconded by Councilman Martin and carried
that bills as presented be allowed and warrants ordered drawn on the
Treasurer.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Martin and carried
that reports of offioers be accepted as presented and placed on file.
