This regular monthly meetir~ of the CoronIon Council is called to
order by His Honor Mayor S.D.Heck.

Minutes of the meetings of Aug.7th,28th,September 4th, 5th and
5th are read and approved.
Reports of City officers are read.
Motion by Councilman Rogers,seconded by Councilman Battersby
and carried unanimously that the reports of the city officers be
accepted as read and placed on file.
Mr.Roy Guerin rep:!l'esenting the San Jose office of the Works
Progress Administration appears before the Council to discuss the
use of W.P.A.labor in the proposed paving of Railroad Street.Mr.
Guerin states that the city,as sponsor of such a project,wQuld
contribute 25% of the amount necessary for the work and the
Federal government will furnish 75%.
The City Engineer is instructed to prepare a map to designate
the location of proposed projects for sidewalk, curb and gutter.
The City Engineer is instructed to draw up specifications for
the proposed construction of valleysat the intersections of First
Street ,Fourth, $tree~,Fifth Street and Sixth Street with Mon~rey
Street and to start this work as soon as possible.
Mayor Heck reports that the Fire Committee has not had an
opportunity to meet to discuss the purchase of a new fire truck
and to consult with the Board of Underwriters. This committee will
meet next week.

Councilman Milias discusses the upkeep of the garbage dump by
1IT.Ed.Piedmont and his compensation for such work. Mx.Piedmont's
claim for $25.00 for maintenance of the dump for the month of August
is laid over. The matter of hauling of garbage by persons other
than the franchise holder is laid over until the next meeting.
The Clerk now presents a report on ;f'ou:pteep pieces of prolE rty
within the City that have appeared on the Delinquent Tax Roll for
a period of five years or more. The Clerk is instructed to }repare
a form letter to he isent by 'registered..mailto ail: personswhose'"'i
names appear in the r~port,calling their attention to the delinquency
and the City's intention to sell the property if the taxes are not
paid within a period of thirty days.

Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Battersby and
carried unanimously that the bills a presented be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn on the Treasurer.
