This regular monthly meeting of the Common Council is called to
at" der by His Honor Mayor S. D.Heok.
Present:Councilmen:George C.Milias,Jr.,Jack Rogers,James Battersby,
George A.Martin,George M.lv1a$on,Nat Heiner. Absent: Councilmen: .None.
Minutes of the meetings of May 2nd and 13th are read and approved.
Motion by Councilman Martin,seconded by Councilman Battersby and
carried that bills ~ presented be allowed and warrants ordered
<<rawn on the Treasurer.
Reports of City Officers are !resented and read.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seoonded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that the reports be accepted as read and placed on file.
Motion by Councilman Heiner,seoonded by Councilman Martin and
carried that the Council adjourn sine die.
Counc ilman Ivlilias now c ammends retiring :Mayor Heck for his many
years of faithful service to the City as Councilman and as Mayor
and on behalf of the members 0 f the Counc 11 presents the Mayor with
a handsome mantle clock. The retiring ~ayor responds thanking members
of the Council for their

A COmLlunication is read from the Anglo-California National Bank
relative to the placing of a sign board on their property located
on the East side of Monterey street,between Martin and LeWis Streets.

By unanimous consent this matter is laid over to a future date.
A Notice of Application to Appropriate Water from Swanson Creek
(a tributary to the Uvas Creek) by Aloise I~lcPhee is PI" esented and
read. This matter is referred to the City Attorney and the City
Engineer for investigation and report.
Motion by ~ouncilman Rogers,seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that the Mayor and the City Clerk sign a note to Mr.L.W.
V;heeler in the amount of ~p6 ,000.00.
Lotion by Councilman Uason,seconded by Councilman Martin and
carried that ~413.23 be transferred from the General Fund to the
Eunicipal Auditorium Bond Fund.
Motion by Councilman Battersby, sec onded by Counc:iilman Rogers and
oarried that the sum of $5,000.00 be transferred from the Water
]und 1Q the General Fund.
I,iotion by Councilman Hartin,seconded by Councilman Mason and
carried that the official bonds of the City Clerk and City Treasurer
~e accepted as presented and that the bond of the City Marshal be
approved subject to his signature on the bond.
