This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called
to order by His Honor N~yor George C.Milias,Jr.
Present:Councilmen: George A.l~rtin,George M.l~son,Nat Heiner,
J.H.Wentworth. Absent:Councilmen:Jack Rogers,James Battersby.
The Mayor announoes that the committee appointed to view the
property at the location of a proposed alley from Third Street to

Fourth Street, between Monterey and Eigleberry streets, had met
with Mr.John Frechou , one of the property owners along the prop-
osed site; Mr.J!'rechou asking 422,000.00 severance damages and the
oommittee making an offer of ;;1,000.00 for said damages. The Mayor
states that the committee recommends that a distance of nine feet
be left between the western edge of the proposed alley and the
apartment building belonging to 1~.Frechou. The City Attorney is
instructed to oontact the heirs of the Estate of James Fisher,and
ascertain what the cost of the land,needed for the alley , and belong-
to the Fis~er Estate, would be.
The matter of a Uniform Building Code is now disoussed.
The City Attorney suggests that the Ordinance Committee meetw;i.th
the Chairman of the Planning Commission and go over the Uniform
Building Code, section by section. It is also suggested that the
Plumbing Code and an Electrical Code be embodied in the proposed
Building Code.
Councilman Mason discusses the necessity for a new valve at the
vad.ve'~house at the reservoir. There being no objection Councilman
Mason is instructed to purchase the neoessary valve.
