This regular adjourned meet'ing i's called to order by Hi~ Honor Sfg
Sanchez.
Present: Council Members: George T. Duffin, Norman B. Goodrich, Wil-
ford E. Jordan, Kenneth L. Petersen, Everett C. Wentworth and Sig Sanchez.
Absent: Counci I Member: Charles F. Quarti"rol i.
The Mayor states that this is the time and place for the public hearing
on the proposed 1962-1963 budget. He asks if anyone present wishes to make
suggestions or comment on the budget as presented. No one Is present to com-
ment on the proposed budget.
City Administrator Carr reports that Bert Weiss is no longer working
asPoundmaster for the County.
Chief of Police Laizure reports that there is a possibility that the
City will lose the pound because Mr. Weiss cannot live on his present Clty.s
salary.
Discussion is had.
The Mayor instructs City Administrator Carr to contact Morgan Hill to
determine if Gilroy and Morgan Hill can combine their animal control opera-
t Ions.
Discussion is had.
Motion by Councilman Duffin second by Councilman Wentworth and carried
that this public hearing on the 1962-1963 budget be closed.
The Mayor reports on the meeting recently had with Mr. Trinchero re-
gardi~g the sidewalk and curb and gutters in front of the Hecker Pass Inn pro-
~erty. He 'states that nothing was accomplished at this meeting.
Discussion is had.
Director of Public Works Kludt states that the City can force Mr.
Trinchero to install curbs and gutters if the street li~es are changed and no
parking is allowed in front of his place of business.
The Mayor instructs Director of Public Works Kludt to contact Mr.
Trlnchero and offer him two al ternatives: 1. Fi rst that he install curbs,
gutters and sidewalk on his property with the exception of the sidewalk and
curb and gutter in front of the Hecker Pass Inn, which the City will install;
2. Second that he be required to install sidewalks, .curb and gutter on 'public
property and at the time that a four lane highway is 'required, no parkin'g will
be allowed in front of his property. '
At this time the Mayor leaves this meeting. ,
Councilman Petersen presides ov~rtfuts meetin~ at this time.
Councilman Wentworth asks why certain hedges and trees' at different
Intersections in the City have not been removed or cut down in conformity
with the ordiriance recently adopted.
Director of Public Works Kludt reports that the ordinance controlling
hedges and trees at fntersections has been enforced to the extent of the num-
ber of complaints received, otherwise the City would have to remove trees all
over the City.
Councilman Wentworth reports that there are a lot of sidewalks In the
City that need repairing.

Director of Public Works Kludt reports that as soon as there is a
man available the City will conduct another survey for broken sidewalks.
Motion by Councilman Goodrich second by Councilman Jordan and
carried that this meeting adjourn.
