The Adjourned Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was called to
order by His Honor Norman B. Goodrich at 4:25 p.m.
Present~ Council Members: Mark E. Kennedy, John E. Pate,
Everett C. Wentworth and Norman B. Goodrich.
Absent: Council Members: Fred P. Batrez, George T. Duffin,
and Anthony C. Silva.
Discussion was continued in regard to scheduled publ ic hearings
of applications before the County of Santa Clara on requests to
include certain parcels of land under Agricultural Preserve Agreements.

Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman
Kennedy and carried that the City establish a policy to protest ap-
plications for said Agricultural Preserve Agreements if a majority of
an individual parcel is included within the City's General Plan and
that a resolution be adopted opposing several such parcels now
scheduled for Publ ic Hearings on February 25, 1970; specifically
Fletcher-Anderson, Sarah Brem, Henry Brem, Kishimura, and Benassi
properties.
City Administrator Wood presented and read Resolution No.
1443 including the parcels now scheduled for Pub1 ic Hearing before
the Board of Supervisors, to be protested to by the City of Gilroy.
Mot i on was made by Counc i lman Pate seconded by Counc i 1man Kennedy
that Resolution No. 1443 be adopted.

RESOLUTION OF THE GILROY CITY COUNCIL OPPOSING SEVERAL APPLICATIONS
FOR LAND CONSERVATION CONTRACTS FOR INCLUSION OF LANDS INTO A COUNTY
OF SANTA CLARA AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE AREA.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of February, 1970, by the following

City Administrator Wood presented a letter request from the
Society for Crippled Children for a Mayor1s Proclamation and request
to solicit funds in the City of Gilroy March 1, 1970 through March
31, 1970. Motion was made by Councilman Wentworth seconded by
Councilman Kennedy and carried that the request of the Society for
Crippled Children for their campaign be approved.
City Administrator Wood presented a request of the Santa
Clara County Peace Officers' Ass'n to sponsor a circus on May 25,
1970, at the High School football field. Discussion was had on the
matter. Council tabled action on same in order to obtain a report
from the Pol Lce Chief in regard to local participation in ticket
sales, etc. from Police Department members and information as to
local benefits from said activity.
At 4:45 p.m. the Mayor adjourned the meeting.
