The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was
called to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 5:03 p.m.
Present: Council Members: George T. Duffin, John E. Pate,
Everett C. Wentworth, and Norman B. Goodrich.
Absent; Council Members: Fred P. Batrez, Mark E. Kennedy, and
Anthony C. Silva.
City Administrator Wood reported that he received a Compre-
hens i ve I nsuraoce Coverage Proposal fromA. Mason Blodgett & Associ ates,
Insurance Broker located in San Francisco.
Mr. A. Mason Blodgett addressed the Council and further ex-
plained said proposal as outlined in his letter of September 2, 1970.
Councilman Kennedy entered at 5:05 p.m. and took his seat at
the Council table.
Discussion was had in regard to said proposal of A. Mason
Blodgett & Associates.
Motion was made by Councilman Duffin seconded by Councilman
Wentworth and carried that the proposal for Comprehensive Liability
Insurance Coverage from A. Mason Blodgett & Associates as outlined in
their letter of September 2, 1970 be approved which includes the
Basic Policy for three (3) years, including the one (I) year automo-
bi Ie pol icy, umbrella pol icy, and that Ci ty Administrator Wood be
authorized to make the necessary arrangements for payment of said
insurance premium.
Mr. Blodgett further reported and recommended extended cover-
ages at additional premiums. Council approved the following extended
coverages for inclusion with the original proposal:
a) $500.00 deductible on schedule of equipment located in offices
throughout the City; b) Addition of Uninsured Motorists Insurance to
the schedule of insurance; c) Increase Employee Fidelity Bond to
$10,000 per employee; d) Addition of Check Forgery and Check Alter-
ation Insurance; 3) Blanket Contractual Liability added to Liability
Insurance to cover liability assumed by a contractor.
It was noted that the new insurance pol icy would be in ef-
fect September 4, 1970 for a thr.ee (3) year period; automobile portion
of said insurance effective for one (1) year only.

It was suggested by Council that proposals for comprehensive
liability insurance be discussed and presented to Council two months
prior to the expiration of said policy.

Inter-City Council The Mayor noted the Inter-City Council Meeting of September 3,
1970 in Alviso. Councilman Kennedy noted that he will not be able
to attend said meeting as originally planned.
Adjournment
At 5:59 p.m. motion was made by Councilman Kennedy seconded
by Councilman Wentworth and carried that the meeting adjourn to
Tuesday, September 8, 1970 at.8:00 p.m.
