The adjourned regular meeting of the Gilroy City Council was
called to order by His Honor Norman B. Goodrich, Mayor, at 5:00 p.m.
Present: Council Members: William E. Childers, Dennis L. DeBell,
Marion T. Link, John E. Pate, David V. Stout and Norman B. Goodrich.
Absent: Council Member: George T. Duffin.
The Mayor announced that the meeting was called in order for the
City to select a consulting engineering firm (following the interviews
on September 4, 1975) for the Industrial Sewage Improvement Project.
Councilman Stout, Chairman, reported that the Industrial
Sewerage Improvement Committee and Industrial Users had unanimously
recommended to hire the consulting engineering firm of Harris &
Associates up to a maximum fee of $13,000.00. He further recommended
that Council approve said selection based upon the verbal agreement as
presented to the Committee so the work can begin without further delay.
, Motion was made by Councilman Stout seconded by Councilman Link and
carreid that the firm of Harris & Associates for the consulting engineers
of the industrial sewerage improvements be hired as recommended.

Miller Ave. Imp. Director of Public Works-City Engineer Hansen reported on receipt
Proj. 75-2 of a si~ned petition, for Miller Avenue Improvement Project 75-2 noting
that all signatures were obtained from property owners on the east side of
Miller Avenue between Fourth and Sixth Streets with the exception of one
property owner living in Santa Cruz who has indicated that he would sign
said petition and forward same to the City; 54% of signatures had been
received on the west side of Miller Avenue between Fourth and Sixth Streets,
noting that O'Connell and Gurgiolo signatures had not been received to date
but that the City can proceed if more than 50% of the property owners had
signed same and that the city would continue to attempt to obtain the
remaining signatures.

Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Link and
carried that Staff proceed with the Miller Avenue Improvements as presented
and advertise bids for same.
At 5:06 p.m., the Mayor adjourned the meeting.
