Dear Roland,
The FPPC requires open campaign committee accounts to be renamed to the next ensuing
election, or to be closed following an election. You currently have the above campaign account
open and will need to close this account or rename it to the 2020 election.
I'm including the Form 410, statement of organization, in this mailing in the event you wish to
retain your campaign account, and rename it for the next election year. This filing is considered
an "amendment" and the new name of the committee will need to include your name, the office
sought, and the year of the election. You must submit this filing in original form, by mail or in
person.
If you wish to close your campaign account, you will file a Form 410, statement of organization,
as a "termination" filing, and must also file a termination Form 460 and disburse the remaining
funds in the account.
This filing must take place no later than November 15, 2017. If you do not file, your committee
will be referred to the FPPC and you will be unable to use these funds as the FPPC regulations
deem outstanding campaign account funds from a prior election as "surplus ".
