To Mayor Blankley & Members of Council,
As part of Gilroy’s efforts to display a flag alongside our US and CA display, I write to you and encourage you to
display the Thin Blue Line flag representing the heroic efforts of our GPD and police officers who serve tirelessly
every day to our communities. They are the ones who run toward the gunfire, they are the ones risking it all out
there, for families and our city. They are people just like you and I, yet the bear this selfless burden in keeping us
safe. They deserve a remembrance and our appreciation for the work that they do, and Gilroy should honor them as
a very simple gesture and thanks to the ones who wear the badge and serve the blue by proudly displaying the Thin
Blue Line flag at city hall.
