Mayor and City Council members,
As both a parent and community member I am urging you to reopen the pool and aquatic
center at Christopher High School. Reopening this pool would provide a place for local
children and their families to recreate, opportunities that are becoming less accessible to
Gilroy’s youth. A public pool provides a place for children to exercise, get sunshine and fresh
air and socialize. Additionally this provides a place for our high school students to gain work
experience as life guards or ancillary staff. The benefits to opening this pool outweigh any
risk.
Thank you for your consideration on reopening Christopher High’s pool.
