Subject:EXTERNAL - City Council Agenda Item 11.4
Date:Monday, August 15, 2022 12:02:44 PM
I ask the City Council to urge the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors to reject the
application for a quarry on the ancestral land of the Amah Mutsun tribe. As written in our
general plan, those of us who live here do so in part due to the beauty of the land around us. I
know you want Gilroy to be known as a progressive city. Remember the negative publicity
surrounding the time capsule art, and the installation of the Camino Real bell?
Please consider rejecting the quarry application, as a measure of respect towards the land and
it's original peoples.
Sincerely, Jan Guffey,
