Gun's whose owners purchased to protect their own lives and the lives of their loved ones from harm and weapons that are "needed immediately-" should such an unfortunate occasion arise; which we see is happening all too often today. Frankly, like the Social Host Ordinance that was completely ignored at the cost of four teen's being shot and two who died at a Halloween Party last year, so far we have found that the ordinance was feckless as the "individual of influence" in making the logistical decisions to help hold the Halloween Party continues to refuse to take responsibility for the carnage; rendering the ordinance worthless. And, feckless is this ordinance that Councilman Hilton wishes to impose on the Citizens of Gilroy.....and I might add is unnecessary since the Government of California and the Federal Government already have laws on the books that effectively deal with this issue and that take precedence over any ordinance the city council might consider. For these reasons I respectfully request the Mayor and Council to vote "Nay" should Councilman Hilton wish to "once again" bring this issue back up before the dais. B/r, Ronald L. Kirkish
