Agenda Item # 9.3 - Mae Valentino | Received 11/22/2022 1
Good evening Council Members and Madam Mayor,
I feel so fortunate to be living in Gilroy. Our small -town essence is unmatched.
I extend tremendous gratitude to all who have reached out to chat or made
time to come by, beginning with the developers of Third Millennium Partners .
It is because of the developer’s side offer, I have experienced a paradigm shift
and I now support the Royal Way Townhomes’ Project.
Their side offer will help lessen the future difficulty of living somewhat
exposed to so many strangers, a lifestyle we have never experienced because
our forever home was purchased under different preexisting conditions. I
haven’t enough words to thank everyone involved such as Dustin Bogue,
Michael Cady, and especially Terry Secor for their genuine responsiveness , as
evident by their side offer (see screenshots on page 2 of this PDF of our email
correspondences dated 11/4 and 11/6 2022).
I am a life-long learner and I have seen but a glimpse of what so many are
tasked with. The interwoven necessities trying to balancing it all is quite a n
undertaking. This boards’ insight has been invaluable. Hearty thanks to those
who have helped me learn, given me their time, and provided their expertise.
I am enthusiastic knowing the plans include an extra sturdy 8-foot fence for
one fear clearly is our dogs being viewed as a nuisance. The dogs’ experiences
of this change will be ongoing and it will be expressed by them barking or
jumping on to the fence trying to protect their perceived area. I pray they will
remain part of our family and not be identified as a problem for those who will
walk the immediate sidewalk or the new, nearby neighbors.
Additionally, knowing the sizable trees will need to stay in place for building
E’s identified two-story windows, as a condition of approval is an added sense
of security when outdoors.
I foresee fulfilled harmonious mitigations . My whole-hearted thanks to
EVERYONE involved today, throughout the project, and beyond.
