I am an accounting professor at MIT, and I am researching the competitiveness of the audit market for California municipalities. To do so, I am collecting data from RFPs across California related to audit services. I believe that the city of Gilroy recently had an RFP for auditing services in 2020. Specifically, the decision to select the city’s auditor was made in a Mar 2020 city council meeting. I was unable to locate the actual bids in the city council minutes for any of the bidders. (I am specifically looking for the audit firms’ proposals so that I can isolate the fees and the hours in the bid). Could you please send me electronic copies of the 10 bid(s) as required under the California Public Records Act? I am specifically looking for the fees (and the hours) for year 1, which is typically included in the audit firms’ proposals, and I will be happy to share the results of my study if you are interested.
