Persons wishing to address the Commission are requested, but not required, to complete a Speaker’s Card located at the entrances. Completion of this speaker’s card is voluntary. All persons may a ttend this meeting and speak, regardless if a card is completed or not. Speaker’s slips should be submitted to the Secretary BEFORE this portion of the meeting begins. Anyone wishing to address the Commission on any other item on this AGENDA is requested, but not required, to fill out a speaker’s slip as well and submit it to the Secretary BEFORE the Commission takes action on the item. Materials related to an item on this agenda submitted to the City of Gilroy Youth Commission after distribution of the agenda packet are available for public inspection with the agenda packet in the Recreation Division at Senior Center, 7371 Hanna Street during normal business hours. ADJOURNMENT YOUTH COMMISSION STAFF REPORT Agenda Item Title: Holiday Posada 2021 Community Engagement Meeting Date: January 10, 2022 Submitted By: Adam Henig Prepared By: Monica Gonzalez Recommendation: Discuss involvement in the 2021 Holiday Posada at San Ysidro Park Executive Summary At the last commission meeting, commissioners approved their work plan for 2021 - 2022. This included their support and engagement with San Ysidro Park’s Holiday Posada event that will be on Sunday December 19, 2021 from 3 -7pm. The commissioners decided they would like to lead craft activities that include: ornaments, face paint and letters to Santa. Along with the activities, they agreed to support with outreach to local youth for volunteers at the event, 12pm-3pm will be set up, 3-7pm event, 7-8pm is clean up. The San Ysidro Nueva Vida resident leaders approved the Youth Commissions involvement and collaboration The commissioners will discuss thei r involvement and participation in the event. 7.A Packet Pg. 4 YOUTH COMMISSION STAFF REPORT Agenda Item Title: Youth Commission 2021-2022 Apparel Meeting Date: January 10, 2022 Submitted By: Adam Henig Prepared By: Monica Gonzalez Recommendation: Discuss and decide on Youth Commission 2021 -2022 graphic logo. Executive Summary Youth Commissioners will design and/or decide on apparel for the active commission term to identify as an organized body and use at community events. At the last meeting, Commissioner Kong expressed that she would create a graphic design for the commissioners to review. 7.B Packet Pg. 5 YOUTH COMMISSION STAFF REPORT Agenda Item Title: Pampered Princess 2022 Planning Meeting Date: January 10, 2022 Submitted By: Adam Henig Prepared By: Monica Gonzalez Recommendation: Commissioners will begins discussing and planning Pampered Princess 2 022. Executive Summary The Youth Commission has planned an annual Pampered Princess Party for the last several years. The purpose of this event is to create pro -social opportunity, engage with children, and provide community service opportunity amongst te ens. The Youth Commission has included the return of Pampered Princess Party as part of their 2020 - 2021 workplan.
