II. SECRETARY'S REPORT Agenda was posted on February 4, 2022.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. November 10, 2021 - Motion was passed by Commissioner Reddy to
approve the minutes. Chair Robinson seconded. Motion passed 4-0-0.
IV. APPROVAL OF AGENDA - Motion was passed by Commissioner Reddy to
approve the minutes. Chair Robinson seconded. Motion passed 4-0-0.
V. AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS - none

VII. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA- none
VIII. OLD BUSINESS- none
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. Selection of Chair and Vice-Chair of Library Commission - Robinson
nominated Vice Chair Coverson-Baxter to serve as commission chair for
2022. Reddy nominated Robinson to serve as Vice Chair. Coverson-Baxter
and Robinson accepted the nominations. Motion by Robinson for Coverson-
Baxter and Robinson to serve as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. Motion
seconded by Reddy. Motion passed 4-0-0.

A. County Library Report for December 2021 - February 2022 (report
attached)
Santa Clara County Librarian Jenifer Weeks discussed the following in he r
report: the new County-appointed poet laurate; Silicon Valley Reads Month;
all libraries open seven days a week; and the circulation of the Covid-19 test
kits at every branch.
B. Gilroy Library Report (report attached)
Community Librarian Cassandra Wong discussed the following topics: Black
History Month events at Gilroy Library; circulation numbers of library
materials; upcoming events; past events from December through January;
the upcoming Covid test kit distribution; and how the library serves as a
“community hub” in Gilroy.
XI. COMMISSION COMMENTS – Kim asked if the Gilroy Library still offers
curbside pickup for library materials. Wong said they could make the
accommodation if she notifies the library in advance. Reddy mentioned, as a
physician, that the library is safe place to be as long as you mask up. Baxter
appreciated the community resources the Library continues to provide patrons.
