Splitting time between Milpitas Library and the Ochoa Migrant Center in Gilroy, the position will help to proactively assist patrons with finding a variety of resources offered by nonprofits and government agencies ranging from employment to housing, healthcare to food access. 21st Century libraries offer much more than just access to information. They actively engage in the community and assist where possible to help improve the lives of residents. SCCLD partnerships with community services such as the Ochoa Migrant Center, BookDash home delivery, free lunch programs, and community outreach by our library staff are great examples of this commitment. The Community Outreach Specialist allows the library to be even more specialized in assisting patrons to achieve their goals. Read more about SCCLD’s Community Resources.
