III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. September 14, 2022 - Motion was passed by Commissioner Kim to
approve the minutes. Commissioner Baxter seconded. Motion passed 4 -0-0.
IV. APPROVAL OF AGENDA - September 14, 2022 - Motion was passed by
Commissioner Reddy to approve the agenda. Commissioner Nooshabadi
seconded. Motion passed 4-0-0.

VII. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA none
VIII. OLD BUSINESS none
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. Approval of the 2023 Library Commission Meeting Schedule – After a
lengthy discussion, Baxter made a motion to propose meeting on the
following five dates in 2023: February 8, April 12, June 14, September 13,
and November 8. Motion was seconded by Reddy. Motion passed 4-0-0.
X. LIBRARY REPORTS
A. County Library Report for October - November 2022 (report attached)
County Librarian Jennifer Weeks discussed the following during her report:

upcoming Silicon Valley Reads events, which will be in-person and virtual;
there were voting centers at the libraries during the election; new family
reading programs in November; and the excitement about the Dolores
Huerta exhibit and lecture happening in Gilroy. Commissioner expressed
interest in volunteering to support the events. Weeks and Librarian Wong
will follow up.
B. Gilroy Library Report (report attached) – Gilroy Librarian Cassandra
Wong covered the following during her report: Early Learning Initiative; Patio
project is complete; Inclusive storytime; collection data at the Library;
Strategic Plan; JEDI initiative throughout the Library system; Dolores Huerta
exhibit, and upcoming events at the Gilroy Library.
