IV. SECRETARY'S REPORT The Parks and Recreation Commission agenda was
posted online on and posted in the City Hall kiosk on February 10, 2022.
V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Parks and Recreation Commission - Regular Meeting - Jan 18, 2022
6:00 PM - Commissioner Reinert motioned to approve. Commissioner
Puente seconded. Motion passed 5-0-0.
VI. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Commissioner Reinert motioned to approve.
Commissioner Bentson seconded. Motion passed 5-0-0.
VII. INTRODUCTIONS
A. New Commissioner – Eric Arredondo introduced himself.

VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA – Atom Biggs of
Gilroy explained the need for additional traffic mitigation safety measures for the
Uvas Creek Levee Trail. He recommended signage that is being used by the City
of Mountain View. The focus is to protect walkers from speeding cyclists. Staff
explained that a traffic review needs to be undertaken to identify the measures that
should be applied. Staff will follow up with Mr. Biggs.
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. Update on Consolidation of Bicycle Pedestrian Commission –
Management Analyst Bryce Atkins explained the new role the Commission
has in the absorption of the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission. This included
managing the Measure B funds; Safe Routes to School; Community Events;
Bike Fund; and Bike Fix-it Stations. He explained that the Commission does
not need to necessarily absorb all the duties, but should consider finding
ways to integrate it into their future work plans.
B. Reschedule Annual Parks and Recreation Commission Retreat
Meeting, March 5, 2022 - There were two commissioners who requested
to have the retreat date changed from March 5. Henig recommended
keeping it in March, so the Commission can begin their new work plan.
Chair Graham suggested Saturday, March 26, 2022. Bentson motioned to
change the retreat date from March 5 to March 26. Reinert seconded.
Motion passed 5-0-0.
C. Selection of Park Assignment – the commissioners selected their new
park assignments for 2022.

XII. COMMISSIONER PARK REPORTS & COMMENTS
Park Assignments
o Commissioner Bentson – Observed that a party did not clean-up much at
Cydney Casper. Christmas Hill looked good.
o Vice Chair Graham – Unable to visit her parks.
o Commissioner Puente – All of his parks looked good. San Ysidro was very
busy, which was good to see.
o Commissioner Reinert – Unable to visit her parks.
