4. COMMISSION SECRETARY’S REPORT ON POSTING THE AGENDA
The agenda for the Bicycle Pedestrian regular meeting was posted on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 3:42 p.m. in
the City Hall announcement window near the Council Chambers and online in keeping with provisions of
the California Brown Act.

8. OLD BUSINESS
A. Measure B Funded Education & Encouragement Update:
• Chair Flautt advised there are not updates.
Com. Reedy stated there is a need for etiquette signs and literature to educate the public for safety.

9. NEW BUSINESS
A. Christmas Hill Park Trail Signage:
• Chair Flautt presented the report and advised the signage is part of the Commission’s work
plan.
• Com. Reedy commented on the material and maps.

B. E-Bike Bike Share Pilot Program Update – Out-Think:
• Chair Flautt introduced the speakers, Brian Barnacle and Eli Slaydon.
• Brian Barnacle of Out-Think provided an update on the program.
• Staff commented on the program update.

C. Cancellation of July Regular Meeting:
• Chair Flautt presented the report.
No public comments.
Motion was made by Com. Reedy seconded by Com. Starks.
Roll call vote to approve cancellation of the July Regular Meeting:

10. COMMISSIONER’S REPORTS
A. Chair Flautt:
• Commented on:
o His audit of the City’s current process of registering bikes and the Statewide 529
project.
o Caltrain - the E-bike program and storage lockers.
B. Com. Sean Reedy:
• Commented on:
o Sidewalk repair program and the 50/50 program.
C. Com. Beach:
• Commented on:
o Mile markings on trails and asked who installs the markings.
D. Com. Robbins:
• Commented on:
o The need to develop signage for children in the parks addressing safety and
etiquette.
E. Com. Starks:
• Reported on:
o Assisting with the Gilroy Bike Pledge – update on prizes for Monthly Drawings.
o Facebook page updates.
o Masks are available for distribution.

Public comment: There was a presentation on the Hwy25 interchange by the Valley Transportation
Authority that was very informative.
