Safe Routes to School Banners/Dero Fix It Station Parts/Gilroy BPAC Pop Up Events
Council Member Zachary Hilton <Zachary.Hilton@ci.gilroy.ca.us>
Mon 7/19/2021 6:48 AM
Morning Gilroy BPAC Commissioners,
Just wanted to give you all a heads up that in less than a month school starts for GUSD! I am in need
of SRTS banners for El Roble and I imagine the banners that may sll be present at the other schools
need replacing too. I think it would be very creave for us to use Measure B E&E funds to create our
Gilroy own banners. Any banners that are le over from the Public Health me would be great unl
you can create our own. Having incenves for the kids that bike/walk to school would be great too.
Time to start ramping up the SRTS programs and perhaps the mask giveaways
too. hps://www.cityofgilroy.org/DocumentCenter/View/9689/Gilroy-BPAC-Measure-B-EE-Safe-
Routes-to-School-Work-Plan
The Dero Fix It staons are geng lots of use and I will compile a list of parts that are needed for
your next meeng.
When will you all be back out on the trails this summer or at the Downtown LIVE events and giving
away masks and informaon on the Gilroy BPAC? Downtown LIVE would be a great place to have a
booth and pass out masks. They were looking for someone to host a bike valet as well. Funds could
be used from Measure B E&E to contract this or host it. hps://www.cityofgilroy.org

Keep up the great work and get out there in the community.
