The agenda for the Bicycle Pedestrian regular meeting was posted on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:26
p.m. in the City Hall announcement window near the Council Chambers and online in keeping with
provisions of the California Brown Act.

A. Measure B Funded Education & Encouragement Update:
• Chair Flautt advised Measure B funds cannot be used for infrastructure projects.

A. Presentation on Project 529
• Chair Flautt provided an overview of the project.
• The Commissioners were presented with videos of how the project started and how it could
help the biking community.
• The Commissioners commented on the presentation.

Roll call vote to approve the Motion to Issue a Recommendation of Project 529’s Program to the
Gilroy City Council and the Gilroy Police Department:

B. Presentation of the Measure B Education & Encouragement Funds Program of Projects and
Annual Report
• Mr. Atkins provided a presentation on the program of projects and the annual report.
• The Commissioners commented on the presentation.

Roll call vote to approve the Motion for Commission Consensus to Submit the 2021 Annual
Report and Annual Report and the 2022 Program of Projects:

• Advised he received inquiries for bicycle classes, currently there are no classes available.

11. STAFF UPDATES
Mr. Atkins advised:
• There is no update on Public Work projects.
• The City hired two engineers and is in the process of hiring two engineering technicians.
• The Commission’s question of how to create comment letters on future projects without
violating the Brown Act are being reviewed.
