Monthly Arts Award - Chair Mattie Scariot
Jacob read a brief bio of Dr. Kate Booth who was present to accept her award from the
Commission.
Jacob Yoder -Schrock presented Dr. Booth with the award froin,,,t e Commission.
Dr. Booth took a group of 15 students on a 10 day trip to 0J�HO"n and Russia. The group toured
several different theatres in Moscow. It was a great tn,

Commissioner Barb Bottini'tiade a motion to nominate her Dr. Janelle Escobar for the award in
July and made a motion to nominate Jacob Yoder -Schrock for the award in June. The motion
was seconded by Commissioner Morasca.
The motion passed with a vote of vote 7-0-0.
Arts and Culture Commission Roundtable Forum 2017
Chair Mattie reported to the Commission that the subcommittee has chosen the topic of
"facilities" for the 20t7 Arts and Culture Commission Roundtable. There would be a discussion
on what facilities are currently available in the community and is there a need for more.
Commissioner Wood expressed concern about the purpose of having a roundtable. Mattie
explained that it is a way to find out what the community wants and how the art environment can
be made better.

Sally reported that the veterans want to come before the Commission regarding a proposal they
