I. OPEN MEETING
Committee Member Steve Seebart called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.and led the
Pledge of Allegiance.
II. REPORT ON POSTING THE AGENDA AND ROLL CALL
Office Assistant Zinnia Navarro reported the agenda for the Regular Historic Heritage
Committee meeting of August 15,2018 was posted on Monday,August 6,2018 at 4:06
p.m.

III. APPROVAL OF ACTION MINUTES May 16, 2018

V. OLD BUSINESS
None
VI. NEW BUSINESS
A.Discussion regarding annual presentation to the City Council on 9/17
Chair Seebart provided a Preliminary Annual Presentation to the Historic Heritage
Committee asking for feedback. It was suggested he provide the presentation to all of
the Historic Heritage Commissioners at our next meeting as Fabian Morales Medina,
and Vice Chair Almendra Perez were not present.
Carol DeSantis and Connie Rogers were called to speak.
B.Discussing regarding allowed expenditure
Pamela Wu shared with the Historic Heritage Committee that City Council has allowed a
$1,000.00 budget for training and/or business cards for each commission/committee.
C.Discussion on requiring an annual report of building permits issued
within historic districts from the Planning staff.
This section was partly discussed in section A; it was also noted that whenever a
building permit is issued within the historic district, it should come to the Historic
Heritage Committee.
In addition, a suggestion was made to have the annual report/presentation come to the
Historic Heritage Committee in the month of August for review, prior to the presentation
to City Council in the month of September.
VII. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:
Pamela Wu Senior Planner stated the HRI Kick off meeting held within a couple months
ago had a great turn out.The YourVoice webpage was launched,with lots of positive
input from residents.
The awarded firm,Dudek Consultants will be working on the Historic Resource
Inventory in mid-September with an initial concentration in Downtown;they anticipate
finishing the survey late 2018,early 2019.They’ll provide a presentation to the Historic
Heritage Committee in the Spring with findings and recommendations.
Commissioner Ashford suggested this project be publicized on YourVoice,Next Door,
Channel 17, Facebook, and Twitter.
