NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Gilroy on Monday,
August 7, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Gilroy City
Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California,
will hold a public hearing to consider the introduction of a proposed ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY (APPLICATION
No Z 23-03) THAT PROVIDES PERMIT REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS FOR
SIDEWALK VENDING
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN in the event the City Council introduces the ordinance at
the August 7th meeting, the Council will consider the adoption of a proposed ordinance
at a regular meeting to be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., in the Gilroy
City Council Chambers at City Hall.
SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE:
This Ordinance adds a new Chapter, 16 B - Sidewalk Vending, to the Gilroy City Code
and provides the permit requirements and standards necessary for mobile or stationary
vending on public pathways, sidewalks, or parks in the City.
Reading the entire ordinance is necessary to obtain a full understanding of the provisions
of this ordinance. A certified copy of the full text of the proposed ordinance will be
available for public review in the Office of the City Clerk at Gilroy City Hall, 7351 Rosanna
Street, Gilroy, CA, by Thursday, August 3, 2023.
The public hearing will be broadcast live on the City of Gilroy’s website at
www.cityofgilroy.org. Individuals who are unable to attend the hearing may submit written
comments by email to the City Clerk at publiccomments@cityofgilroy.org. All written
comments must be submitted prior to or at the public hearing to be included in the record.
Please note that if you wish to challenge the decisions made at this hearing, you may
only raise issues that were raised at the hearing, as described in this notice, or in written
correspondence delivered to the City prior to the meeting.
